Job summary

An educational institution in Cape Town is seeking a Student Wellness Specialist to provide emotional and mental counselling services to students. The role involves facilitating group counselling, establishing referral networks, and managing community engagement programmes. Candidates should have a postgraduate degree in counselling or social work and at least two years of related experience. Qualifications

  • Minimum of Postgraduate Diploma / Bachelor Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Counselling Psychology or Social Work.
  • Legal Requirements: Registered with Social Work Council or Health Professions Council of South Africa.
  • Minimum of 2 years Trauma Counselling and 2 years Community Engagement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual primary counselling to students.
  • Facilitate group counselling for students with similar problems.
  • Establish a referral network for secondary counselling.
  • Facilitate engagements with Non-Government Organisations (NGO's).
  • Compile and submit weekly Student Wellness status reports.
