Junior Achievement (JA) South Africa is a non‑profit organisation that facilitates experiential financial literacy, entrepreneurial and workplace readiness programmes to youth across the country, in both rural and urban environments. Established in 9, JA South Africa is affiliated to JA Worldwide (), one of the largest business education organisations in the world, operating in over countries.

JA South Africa seeks to appoint a Business Development Executive to be based in Johannesburg.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the incumbent must be a sales professional, be target driven and results oriented. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategic business development plan with the Marketing Sub‑Committee of the JA South Africa Board of Directors and the Executive Management team. The core focus would be to generate new business and manage stakeholder relations.

Responsibilities:
  • In conjunction with the Managing Director and Marketing Sub‑Committee of the Board, develop a growth strategy focused on financial gain and stakeholder satisfaction;
  • Work with theM&E Officerand gather programme performance and intelligence to transition to the new business as usual position;
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and stakeholder needs;
  • Prioritize organizations to engage with;
  • Manage and expand various local and international strategic partnership arrangements;
  • Support fundraising initiatives – pursue funding leads and provide input on proposal writing;
  • Maintain strategic relations with key stakeholders;
  • Provide trustworthy feedback and post support;
  • Collaborate with the Executive Management on funding targets, planning, and forecasting; maintaining short‑and long‑term business development plans;
  • Create and maintain a database of prospective client information on Salesforce;
  • Cold call, make multiple outbound calls to potential clients;
  • Set targets and meet all quotas for cold, active, inactive calls, appointments, and interviews – meeting or exceeding annual goals.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years business development and marketing experience at a senior level
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Results oriented and driven by target KPIs
  • Knowledge of the youth development sector and experience of working with key stakeholders at a senior level.
  • Post matric qualification (Master’s degree / Prost grad) in business management or marketing management
  • A high level of computer literacy
  • Knowledge and experience working across all aspects of media
