Behaviour Mentors – Additionally Resourced Provision (SEMH)

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: Approx. £26,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Bexley, South-East London

A supportive and inclusive primary school in Bexley is seeking two experienced Behaviour Mentors to join their Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Additionally Resourced Provision. This specialist provision supports pupils with complex SEMH needs who require a highly structured, nurturing, and consistent environment.

These are permanent, full-time positions, and solid experience supporting pupils with SEMH or challenging behaviour is essential.

About the Role: Behaviour Mentor – SEMH

You will work as part of a dedicated team supporting pupils with significant social, emotional and behavioural needs. The role involves working both 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils regulate their emotions, engage with learning and develop positive behaviour strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with a range of SEMH needs within a specialist provision
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who require consistency
  • Implement behaviour management, regulation and de-escalation strategies
  • Support the delivery of personalised learning and interventions
  • Promote emotional well-being, resilience and academic progress
  • Work closely with the SEMH Lead, BEHAVIOUR MENTOR and wider inclusion team
  • Maintain a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
  • Must have solid SEMH or Behaviour Mentoring experience
  • Confident, firm, calm and resilient
  • Strong behaviour management skills, with the ability to de-escalate effectively
  • Experience supporting primary-aged pupils is preferred
  • Reliable, dedicated and passionate about helping vulnerable children
  • Available for a full-time, ASAP start
