Overview

Large Hotel in Cape Town is looking for an experienced Barman.

Responsibilities

• Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve drinks and snacks
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
• Mix and prepare ingredients for cocktails
• Plan and present bar menu
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations & ensure minimum losses
• Maintain standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all bar areas
• Check drinks presentations and temperature to make sure of its quality
• Ensure everything in the bar is set-up and ready for service, including the coffee stations and all machines
• Assist management in taking bar stock

Requirements

• Grade 12
• A formal qualification would be an advantage
• Preferably 3+ years previous experience as a Barman
• Sound wine knowledge
• Passionate about the hospitality industry
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, written and verbal (in person and telephonic)
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent people skills
• Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with all departments
