Job Role

Backend Integration Developer

Objective of Scope of Work
  • There is a demand to support the Oracle business community
  • To provide functional support to ERP system users on assigned modules with focus on testing, business analysis, system setup and configuration.
  • To take responsibility for driving ERP business analysis initiatives from initiation to implementation on projects of low / medium risk
  • To facilitate workshops independently and consult with business owners and stakeholders in respect of problem definition and the identification of business requirements / needs
  • To review business processes and procedures, analyse business needs and associated data, identify and assess possible solutions, and define the associated requirements
  • To elaborate the scope and feasibility of solutions, and develop the supporting business case
  • To manage change requirements and supporting specifications, provide the functional specification and manage acceptance testing
  • To investigate problem, propose solutions by interacting with users, developers, & other stakeholders
  • To configure complex business processes & tasks (where appropriate) within a system for improvement
  • To identify and register risks within their ERP functional streams
  • To develop system training manuals, training plans and present training courses in support of new implementation
  • To stay abreast of changes to analytical tools and methodologies, and advice the Business Analyst Competency Centre to adhere to new practices
Scope of Services Definition
  • Define own work plan & deliverables with guidance from manager, prioritising outputs against work plan.
  • Prepare and deliver work that reflects the range of methods and practices in integration, including RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and event-driven architectures.
  • Develop and implement integration processes and interfaces, including third-party and perimeter / boundary integrations, focusing on secure API gateways, OAuth 2.0 authentication, and JWT token management, aligned with PMO standards.
  • Analyse and translate functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications and designs, incorporating encryption protocols (e.g., AES-), digital certificates (e.g., X. for TLS / SSL), and cryptographic key management.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of integration systems, message flows, and patterns through analysis, coding, documentation, and problem resolution, with emphasis on vulnerability scanning & secure coding practices.
  • Interact with vendors on implementation, configuration, and maintenance of integration-related platforms, troubleshooting issues in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Comply with policies and procedures, and participate in disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives, including failover mechanisms for high-availability integrations and immutable logging where applicable.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining relationships by providing timely and accurate information on integration health and security posture.
  • Contribute to integration strategy, including adoption of API-first design principles, containerization (Docker / Kubernetes), and emerging trends like API monetization or Web3 integrations.
Key responsibilities
  • Provide Oracle support and maintenance for a FSD Oracle division (Projects, Programmes, new Demands and Support)
  • Support the unit in fulling it's mandate of providing support for Oracle financial suite of modules.
  • High focus on the asset life cycle value chain and ensuring accuracy in underlying data
  • Facilitating new enhancements and demands from business units as and when the need arises and ensuring that solutions deployed are fit-for-purpose and optimal.
  • Be a trusted advisor to business on best of breed financial processes from an Oracle perspective and align business requirements and solutions accordingly.
  • Take accountability for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of the solutions for the business including training where applicable and ensure that solutions implemented are innovative.
Education and experience
  • Five to eight years' integration-related experience.

Additional Requirements
  • Knowledge and skills in industry awareness, quality assurance, continuous improvement, professional development, business continuity planning, integration design and support, IT governance and compliance, collaboration, integration testing (e.g., OWASP ZAP), business relationship management, IT enablement reporting, and capacity / performance management (e.g., monitoring with Prometheus / Grafana).
