Required qualifications
- Qualified CA (SA)
- 3+ years experience in a similar role of Audit Manager
- Required computer packages: MS Office, CaseWare, Pastel, Greatsoft (advantageous), Email
Responsibilities
- Managing an audit department, which involves coordinating employees and working to produce an assurance file and annual financial statements for the directors
- Purpose - to present the director with a clean assurance file and AFS
- People management
- Manage and supervise assurance engagements
- Plan and coordinate work for audit clerks
- Responsible for employee assessments (SAICA Assessment Process)
- Counselling, coaching and training clerks
- Perform disciplinary procedures
- Review work performed by audit clerks
- Weekly employee briefing
- Plan for upcoming jobs and continuously adapt plans to consider changes
- Report to directors and monitor progress on their jobs - act as a liaison between directors and clerks
- Meet with clients regarding audit/accounting issues
- Manage client queries
- Communicate the firm’s decisions to the audit department and feedback on audit department issues to directors
- Perform specialist roles – business plans, cashflows, tenders, fraud investigations
- Compliance with the firm’s System of Quality Management (SOQM), policies and procedures
- Compliance with the firm’s Employee Code of Conduct which consists of the firm’s HR policies, SAICA, IRBA, and IESBA Codes of Conduct
