We are looking for a Procurement Officer based in Johannesburg, Kempton Park.
Purpose of the Role:
As a Consumable Buyer / Procurement / Purchasing Officer, your role will focus on supplier relationship management, ensuring the optimal balance between cost, quality, and efficiency in the consumable procurement process. You will play a pivotal role in securing high-quality and cost-efficient supplies for our business.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implement and optimize procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial efficiency.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards in consumable procurement.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand end-user requirements and preferences.
- Streamline and enhance the procurement process for consumables, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Implement procurement strategies that align with overall business objectives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and price changes in consumable procurement.
- Achieve targeted cost savings in consumable procurement through negotiation and strategic sourcing.
- Monitor and enhance supplier relationships to ensure timely deliveries and high-quality products.
- Implement improvements in the procurement process to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Generate reports for management on stock levels, purchasing activities, and cost analysis.
Purchase Orders & Goods Receipt:
- Ensure correct processing and approval of documents, and follow up on outstanding documents.
- Manage consumable procurement for all four offices.
- Estimate and establish budgets for purchases.
- Maintain purchase records and other important data.
- Negotiate pricing and supply contracts.
- Complete all supplier credit application forms and obtain supporting documentation.
- Process staff expense claims.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations.
- Raise accruals at month-end for expenses.
Education / Qualifications:
- Matric
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management and Procurement, certified through the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Chain (CIPS).
