Rand Water is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accounts Assistant to join our Scientific Services Division. The successful candidate will support the management and reporting of assets, assist with cash and creditors management while ensuring compliance with Rand Water policies and procedures. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate asset records and supporting business financial operations.

Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF Level 4)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a financial environment, specifically asset management
  • Financial qualification will be advantageous
  • Advanced MS Office applications and SAP
Primary Duties
  • Assist with asset management, including verification, reconciliation, and updating of asset records on SAP
  • Prepare and submit asset verification reports and audit assets annually
  • Administration of the petty cash function
  • Manage petty cash availability and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures
  • Receipt and process invoices, resolve supplier queries, and maintain invoice records
  • Provide business administrative support including capturing journals for cost recovery, cost reallocations and corrections
  • Ensure compliance with SHEQ and ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Liaise with internal departments and external parties for asset and cash related matters
