Job summary

A reputable financial services provider in South Africa seeks a dedicated bookkeeping professional to ensure the assigned General Ledger accounts are maintained and reconciled efficiently. Responsibilities include processing supplier invoices, preparing payment requisitions, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate should have a Grade 12 National Diploma and at least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping/credit control, along with a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. This position offers a hybrid remote work model.

Qualifications

  • 2 years' experience in bookkeeping or as a credit controller.
  • Drivers Licence and Reliable Vehicle required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure assigned GL accounts are maintained and reconciled efficiently.
  • Match and process supplier invoices.
  • Resolve reconciling items through communication with suppliers and staff.
  • Prepare payment requisitions and send remittance advices to suppliers.
  • Verify the correctness of supplier master data.

Job description

Responsible to ensure that the assigned General Ledger (GL) accounts are maintained and reconciled in an efficient and effective manner, reporting directly to the Financial Controller – General Ledger & FI Journals.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions
  • Match and process supplier invoices.
  • Resolve reconciling items by liaising with supplier and internal staff.
  • Maintain and reconcile supplier statements with relevant accounting records.
  • Prepare payment requisitions according to payment terms and forward remittance advices to suppliers.
  • Verify correctness of supplier master data on the accounting system.
  • Comply with all relevant statutory regulations during the execution of duties i.e. VAT Act, SA Reserve Bank, Customs and Excise.
  • Maintain updated and accurate files.
  • Prepare timeous and accurate reports, as and when required.
