A reputable and well-established engineering consultancy company is looking for an experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper with strong financial acumen and attention to detail to join their team in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general administrative duties within the finance department.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general accounting and bookkeeping tasks including billing forecasts, invoicing, and statements.
  • Manage and report on debtors and collections.
  • Handle petty cash and credit card allocations and monthly reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and assist with general office administration.
  • Provide support to the Financial Manager with finance-related duties.

Requirements:
  • Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping.
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant accounting/bookkeeping experience.
  • Experience using accounting or project management software and ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word (intermediate level).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of handling audits, resolving conflicts, and working in a team environment.
