Laboratory Technician
Job summary
A major energy company in Singapore is seeking a Laboratory Technician for Gas Plant Operations. The role involves performing quantitative and qualitative testing analysis of water samples, maintaining lab equipment, and preparing chemical solutions. Candidates should hold a NITEC or Diploma in Chemistry and have ideally 1 year of relevant experience. The position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong understanding of laboratory procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a leading energy sector organization.
Qualifications

Responsibilities
- Perform quantitative and qualitative testing analysis of various water types.
- Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
- Prepare laboratory reagents and chemical solutions.
- Maintain clean and safe work environment.
- Support chemical treatment processes.
- Manage inventory of lab supplies.
- Prepare monthly operation reports and summaries.
- Conduct environmental program tracking.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols.

Laboratory Technician (Gas Plant Operations - Water & Chemical Plant)
- Perform quantitative and qualitative testing analysis of boiler water, feedwater, waste water and demineralised water in accordance with established standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of lab equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Prepare laboratory reagents and chemical solutions following standard formulas and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
- Support chemical treatment processes for boiler feed water and cooling systems.
- Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and chemicals, including ordering and replenishment.
- Prepare monthly chemical plant operation reports, graphs, and statistical summaries.
- Conduct environmental program tracking and follow up actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and PPE requirements during all tasks.
- Handling ad‑hoc tasks as assigned.
- NITEC or Diploma in Chemistry or equivalent.
- Preferably with 1‑year of relevant experience preferred.
- Meticulous and systematic, with a solid understanding of basic laboratory practices and procedures.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently, and a strong team player.
