Job description
About NTI Membranes:

NTI is a Singapore-based leader in advanced membrane technology, dedicated to providing sustainable energy and water recovery solutions. We specialize in designing, manufacturing, and integrating high-performance hollow fiber membrane systems for municipal, industrial, and commercial applications. Our mission is to help our clients "close the energy and water loop" by turning wastewater and waste heat into a valuable resource, ensuring a sustainable future for Singapore and the region.

The Opportunity

Join our R&D team and work on applied research that directly improves our water and energy recovery solutions. As a lab analyst, you will support process development and optimization within wastewater treatment and energy recovery operations. The role involves conducting laboratory-based experiments, performing water quality analyses, characterizing membranes, and providing technical insights to enhance system performance and resource recovery efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory tests related to wastewater treatment, membrane filtration, and energy recovery processes.
  • Monitor and record key performance indicators such as flux, trans‑membrane pressure, chemical oxygen demand (COD), biological oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS), conductivity, and other relevant water quality parameters.
  • Carry out membrane autopsies to determine fouling mechanisms and identify inorganic, organic, or biological foulants.
  • Perform fouling analysis to support the development and evaluation of cleaning protocols and assess membrane lifecycle.
  • Analyze experimental data to determine optimal operating conditions and evaluate system performance for various applications.
  • Conduct membrane characterization using analytical instruments such as FTIR, SEM, and other relevant methods to study surface morphology and chemical composition.
  • Prepare technical reports, maintain accurate laboratory records, and ensure data integrity for ongoing research or plant optimization work.
  • Support pilot‑scale or bench‑scale studies aimed at improving treatment efficiency, resource recovery, and environmental impact reduction.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety standards, ensure proper handling of chemicals, and maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab environment.
Who You Are
  • Hold a Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Possess hands‑on laboratory experience, especially in water quality testing and sample preparation.
  • Familiar with membrane separation principles, fouling mechanisms, and analytical characterization techniques.
  • Meticulous, detail‑oriented, and committed to producing reliable, high‑quality experimental results.
  • Motivated by solving practical environmental challenges through data‑driven approaches.
  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently on defined research tasks and timelines.
