The Central Merchant team oversees, shapes, and grows the merchant business in Grab Singapore.
Get to Know the Role
This role is specifically to acquire and onboard merchant partners for the OmniCommerce business. OmniCommerce is Grab's new umbrella of services, supporting restaurants' physical stores. Our goal is to help restaurants on our platform drive sustainable growth by becoming their demand generation engine both offline and online, with a full suite of solutions - content & discovery, reservations, table management & ordering solutions, deals, loyalty, insights & CRM, payments, ads.
This role will report to the Manager, Merchant Sales, and it will be fully onsite in Grab Singapore office.
The day-to-day activities:
Meet, pitch and lead negotiations with assigned/prospected merchant leads to acquire and onboard them onto Grab
To market and champion Grab’s strong value proposition as the leader of choice for merchants
Build relationships/partnerships with merchants and manage their performance and contribution to building the Grab merchant network
Handle day-to-day merchant queries (commercial & operational) and ensure a smooth and efficient onboarding and post-onboarding process
Be accountable for merchant activity and engagement throughout the merchant’s onboarding journey
Keep abreast of market and industry knowledge as well as competitor activity in order to contribute to strategies in meeting market changes and merchants’ requirements
Develop and maintain a solid understanding of Grab’s merchant solutions (i.e., Scan-to-Order product and Loyalty Solution)
Work closely with the Account Management Team and other verticals (e.g. GrabPay, GrabAds, GrabRewards) to align and cross-sell, elevating the value Grab brings to merchants
What Essential Skills You Will Need
Bachelor’s Degree or higher education in business, economics or relevant fields
4 to 6 years of experience in sales and/or business development with a successful track record
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to build rapport and win over merchants
Proficiency in Mandarin is a bonus
Proficient in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Good business acumen, comfortable with numbers and analysing sales data
Prior sales experience in SaaS is advantageous
