Job description

Our client is a well-established ship brokerage firm based in Singapore, known for its strong presence in the global maritime industry. As part of its strategic expansion into the Japanese market, the company is seeking a Ship Broker-Japanese Speaking to join its team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Japanese shipowners, charterers, trading houses and shipyards
  • Facilitate negotiations and transactions related to ship sale & purchase and chartering
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, providing insights and reports to clients and internal teams
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts and related documentation
  • Collaborate closely with internal brokers and support teams to ensure smooth deal execution
  • Represent the company in meetings, conferences, and industry events, particularly in Japan-related contexts
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Native-level proficiency in Japanese (spoken and written) to liaise with clients
  • Prior experience in shipbroking, shipping operations, or maritime-related roles is highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Familiarity with Japanese business culture and practices is a plus
