A research institution in Singapore is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join their Proteins4Singapore programme. This role involves evaluating alternative protein production processes and performing technoeconomic assessments. Ideal candidates should possess a PhD in engineering, have expertise in process modelling, LCA, and TEA, and have interdisciplinary skills in food production and sustainability. The position offers a competitive salary and a vibrant working environment.
TUMCREATE is a multidisciplinary research platform of the Technical University Munich (TUM) at the Singapore Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE). We are joining forces with universities, public agencies, and industry for the advancement of future technologies.
Our large-scale Food Science ‘Proteins4Singapore’ program is funded by Singapore’s National Research Foundation (NRF). The Technical University Munich (TUM) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) join forces with the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and A*STAR’s Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI) to research plant-based proteins.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Process modelling, Technoeconomic assessment and Life cycle analysis)
You will be working in the Proteins4Singapore (P4S) programme, a comprehensive research programme with renowned scientists of plant and food technology, food chemistry, and business sustainability. Interdisciplinary teams will generate state-of-the-art methods and techniques to ensure a sustainable protein supply in highly urbanized environments.
The focus of research is on the evaluation of alternative protein production processes. We will establish total value assessments of protein supply chains for technologies developed from this project as well as for the major existing animal and plant-based sources of protein. The key methodologies used in this project are process modelling, techno-economic analysis (TEA), life cycle assessment/analysis (LCA), and supply chain analysis. The project will be at the interface of food sciences, process modelling, TEA, LCA, and supply chain optimization.
This is a fixed term contract until March 2027.
Please send your application including cover letter (compulsory) and CV to hr@tum-create.edu.sg.
We look forward to your application.
