Job summary
A local nursing home in Singapore is seeking a professional to train and support employees and students with special needs in achieving workplace readiness. Professional Roles
- Train, coach and assess students and employees with special needs on-site to meet industrial standards and requirements of the nursing homes incorporating Work-readiness Skills and Work Habits – hard and soft skills.
- Support students and employees in integrating in workplace environment, including managing relationships with co-workers and supervisors
- Facilitate and support the implementation, review of the vocational education curriculum to enable students and employees with special needs to achieve competencies in both hard and soft skills.
- Preparing documents, reports and other communication materials, where necessary, for the purpose of communicating information to parents, documenting site observations or incidence reporting
- Monitor students and employees with special needs’ performance using CATs (Continuous Assessment Tools) and SWPs (Standard Work Performance)
- Provide on-site training/supervision as and when needed.
- Work with stakeholders that include trainees, their families, Professional Partners, Allied Professional, Job Coaches, instructors, alumni service team and Reporting Officers
Clinical Care
- Assist the nursing team in the delivery of nursing care to the residents by students and employees with special needs in the nursing homes.
- Assist the therapy team in the delivery of the therapeutic activities to the residents by students and employees with special needs in the nursing homes.
- Help to maintain a clean, safe and neat environment for the residents by students and employees with special needs in the nursing home.
Administration
- Provide administrative support for training and development activities under SG Enable
- Participating in meetings and trainings to develop relevant knowledge and skills
- Maintain confidentially in all aspects of participants, staff and organisation information
- Other duties as assigned by Care Programme Executive and/or Administrator
Pre-requisites
- A Diploma or GCE A level qualification
- Able to travel to offsite work locations, i.e. employer work sites, with possibility of more than one location a day
- Possess effective communication skills as required to communicate with external employers and workplace co-workers
- Strong organizational skills with strong detail orientation
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and challenging work environment
- Desire to learn about Autism and the passion to help special needs students/adults
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
