Job summary

A global shipping company in Singapore is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist to oversee Terminal Operation costs and ensure financial accuracy. The ideal candidate will monitor handling activities, generate accruals, and validate cost documentation. A degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 2 years of experience in the container shipping industry are required. This position is open to local employment only.

Summary

In this role, you will oversee Terminal Operation costs – handling and extra costs, ensuring that financial records are posted correctly and SAM accruals are accurately captured.

Main responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage Terminal handling related activities and any additional or unforeseen operational costs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate generation of accruals to support monthly financial closing.
  • Liaise with GBSI/GBSCQ, Cost control team to validate cost accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Identify cost variances or discrepancies and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in finance or operations costing within container shipping industry
  • Possess basic understanding of accrual accounting concepts
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, basic formulas)
  • Experience with cost tracking and variance analysis
