Job summary

A leading insurance company in Singapore is seeking a Financial Reporting Specialist. The role involves preparing regulatory reports and managing annual audits. Candidates should have a degree in Accountancy or Finance, and 4-6 years of relevant experience, preferably in insurance. Key Responsibilities

Financial & Regulatory Reporting

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly regulatory reports to the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and ensure timely submission.
  • Prepare other MAS regulatory reports as required.
  • Support the preparation of annual audited financial statements and MAS returns in accordance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
  • Manage annual audits and coordinate with both external and internal auditors to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax-related reports including corporate tax returns and transfer pricing documentation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, IT and Reinsurance to ensure data consistency and insights for financial reporting.
  • Undertake any other responsibilities as assigned by the Financial Controller.

Other Ad-Hoc Projects

  • Support local and regional finance transformation initiatives, including:
  • Finance system upgrades or integrations
  • Process automation
  • Enhancements to internal controls and reporting accuracy
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and responses to regulatory queries.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Accountancy or Finance.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA Singapore) or equivalent (e.g., ACCA) is preferred.
  • 4 - 6 years of relevant experience, ideally within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Prior experience in a Big 4 audit firm or in insurance financial reporting is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Familiarity with MAS insurance regulations and insurance accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 17, IFRS 9) is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial systems (e.g., SUN, SAP) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
