Job description
Job Title: Assistant Director, Business Development

Reporting to the Principal Assistant Director of Business Development, you will join a dynamic team focused on business development with foreign public agencies, associations, private entities, and universities with the aim to deliver results aligned to the Singapore IP Strategy 2030. You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, building strategic relationships, and driving adoption of a suite of services offered by the IPOS Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies with a regional focus on China and potential opportunity to move into other priority markets.
  • Identify, engage, and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders—including government agencies, corporates, law firms, and trade associations—in targeted international markets.
  • Establish and grow strategic partnerships that create long-term value and unlock new opportunities for the IPOS Group.
  • Conduct market intelligence and analysis to inform strategic positioning, outreach efforts, and business development priorities.
  • Support the design and execution of marketing strategies tailored to diverse audiences across regions and sectors.
  • Represent the IPOS Group at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder engagements, delivering presentations and thought leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure alignment between business development initiatives and organisational goals.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on business development performance, including pipeline progress and impact metrics.

  • At least 6 to 8 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or client engagement, preferably in legal, IP, or professional services.
  • Strong familiarity and understanding of the China market and business culture; proficiency in Mandarin will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
  • Exhibit drive, ambition and resilience to drive innovation and business growth.
  • Proactive and resourceful in improving processes and identifying opportunities.
  • Meticulous with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Proficient in presentation, data analytics and visualisation will be advantageous.
  • Some travelling will be required.
