A leading logistics company in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Workshop Supervisor to ensure smooth maintenance of its fleet. The role involves supervising day-to-day workshop activities, implementing preventive maintenance schedules, and managing a team of mechanics and electricians. The ideal candidate should possess a Diploma in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering and have 5–10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in logistics. This position requires strong technical knowledge and leadership skills.
We are looking to hire a Workshop Supervisor to ensure smooth and efficient maintenance and repair of the company’s fleet of vehicles (tankers, trailers, trucks, etc.) by supervising workshop activities, ensuring adherence to maintenance schedules, safety standards, and cost-effective operations for our Workshop in KSA. Candidate should have prior experience in KSA.
Supervise day-to-day activities in the workshop for preventive and breakdown maintenance of vehicles.
Allocate daily jobs to mechanics, electricians, welders, and helpers based on workload and skill.
Ensure all repairs are carried out as per manufacturer standards and safety procedures.
Monitor turnaround time (TAT) for repairs and ensure minimal vehicle downtime.
Implement preventive maintenance schedules (PMS) for all vehicles.
Maintain service history and ensure timely service for each unit.
Check job cards, maintenance records, and ensure proper documentation of all repairs.
Conduct vehicle inspections before and after repair.
Verify the quality of work done — mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and bodywork.
Diagnose recurring issues and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure calibration and hydro testing records for tankers and valves are maintained (if applicable).
Raise spare parts requests based on job card requirements.
Coordinate with the storekeeper for issue/return of parts.
Monitor usage of consumables and prevent wastage.
Report slow-moving or non-moving parts for review.
Supervise mechanics, electricians, welders, and helpers for discipline, attendance, and performance.
Ensure workshop cleanliness, tool maintenance, and compliance with safety standards.
Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings regularly.
Coordinate with transport operations for vehicle scheduling and release.
Update the Workshop Manager on major repair issues, accidents, or delays.
Prepare daily and weekly maintenance reports (vehicles under repair, completed jobs, pending jobs).
Minimize external repairs by effective in-house maintenance.
Ensure efficient use of manpower, parts, and materials to reduce repair cost.
Identify opportunities for cost-saving without compromising quality.
Strong technical knowledge of heavy vehicles, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
Good supervisory and leadership skills.
Basic computer skills (Excel, ERP / fleet management software).
Ability to analyze maintenance data and suggest improvements.
Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
Qualification: Diploma / ITI / B.Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering.
Experience: Minimum 5–10 years in workshop supervision, preferably in a transport or logistics company with a large fleet of heavy vehicles.
