Job Overview:
The Transportation Supervisor oversees daily fleet operations, ensuring the timely and safe delivery of vehicles or cargo from yards to designated delivery points. The role includes managing transporter bookings, driver schedules, route planning, and delivery documentation while ensuring compliance with safety, customer service, and operational standards. The supervisor also coordinates with stockyard, PDI, and inventory teams to ensure smooth end-to-end logistics flow.
Job Responsibilities
Daily Transport Operations
- Book and request the required trucks through third-party transporters.
- Supervise and coordinate dispatch and outbound movements of vehicles.
- Monitor transporter arrival, loading operations, and document preparation.
- Allocate vehicles based on delivery priority, route, and customer SLAs.
- Manage claims related to transit damages, missing items, and delivery discrepancies.
- Review and verify third-party transporter invoices prior to submission.
- Handle new vehicle announcements in YMS and update the daily delivery tracker.
Driver & Vendor Management
- Monitor driver behavior, trip logs, and adherence to delivery SOPs and safety protocols.
- Track and evaluate performance of external transport vendors and haulers.
- Enforce transporter compliance with agreed SLAs and safety standards.
Route Planning & Tracking
- Optimize routing schedules to improve delivery timelines and minimize delays.
- Utilize GPS and tracking systems to monitor live transporter movement.
- Ensure swift response to any deviations, vehicle breakdowns, or route interruptions.
Delivery Documentation & Compliance
- Verify gate passes, trip sheets, and delivery notes for each dispatch.
- Ensure full compliance with KSA transportation regulations and documentation policies.
- Escalate and report any delivery failures, transport delays, or accident cases.
Coordination with Internal Teams
- Align vehicle delivery planning with yard readiness, PDI completion, and stock availability.
- Coordinate with Inventory and Warehouse teams for vehicle handover and staging.
- Communicate daily with Customer Service and Planning teams regarding delivery statuses.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business administration
- Route Planning / GPS Tracking
- 3-5 years of experience Transport Operations Experience
- Experience in Fleet / Transport Vendor Oversight
