Job description

Insuco, a consulting firm specialized in applied social sciences and sustainability, is recruiting a Technical Director (M/F) on a fixed-term contract for its office based in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

MISSION

The Technical Director is responsible of coordinating the technical department and ensuring that Insuco quality standards are maintained.

ROLE AND ACTIVITIES
Organisational management
  • Manage the staff of the Technical Department.
  • Define the activities of the Technical Department in conjunction with the Regional Director.
  • Set up monitoring and management tools.
  • Ensure the correct use and appropriation of ERP and any digital solutions applied to project and knowledge management, in conjunction with the Regional Director.
  • Define and lead the execution of the technical roadmap, in alignment with the business development goals and in conjunction with the Regional Director.
Business development and institutional relations

In collaboration with the Regional Director, organise and implement business intelligence and networking activities.

  • Identify new clients/projects and maintain relationships with existing clients/past clients.
  • In collaboration with the Regional Director, represent Insuco at events, meetings or commercial prospecting spaces in accordance with the theme and positioning strategy.
  • Actively participate in the development of the commercial strategy of the regional office.
  • Select responses to expressions of interest and tenders in consultation with the other members of the Technical Department.
  • Prepare responses to calls for tenders and expressions of interest.
Project planning and management
  • Oversee the execution of ongoing studies and projects:
  • Ensure the technical quality of activities and results before, during and after the projects,
  • Ensure the transmission of information (between/with Insuco, consultants, clients, various departments),
  • Monitor the progress of studies (activities, schedules, budgets, quality),
  • Supervise all technical aspects of assignments with the various support departments (legal, HR, logistics, finance, administration).
  • Carry out field missions when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with Insuco's quality standards (proposals, assignments and deliverables).
  • Maintain an updated database of current consultants and partners and a constant search for new consultants and partners.
  • Manage the negotiation of daily rates with experts according to group rates, in conjunction with the Regional Director.
  • Support the technical team as key referent for technical issues and promote culture of collaboration, high standards and innovation.
R&D / Capitalisation of tools and knowledge
  • Implement an internal process for capturing, sharing and including lessons learned and key factors across projects.
  • Develop, adapt and update methodologies and/or technical tools in coordination with regional and continental teams.
  • Ensure best practices in technical documentation (references and drive), guidelines, templates.
  • Participate in strategic planning processes for new topics, product and service development.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of a training and education strategy for the region and projects teams, with a continental perspective.
  • Monitor and participate in the Group's internal projects.
REQUIRED PROFILE
Education
  • Master's degree in social sciences, economics, agronomy, CSR, or environment.
Experience
  • 5 years of successful field and project management experience in a challenging environment.
  • Significant experience working in a multicultural environment.
  • Knowledge of international issues and standards related to Social Impact Assessments and Resettlement Action Plans.
  • Experience in Middle East and Gulf Cooperation Council countries and in consulting firms is an asset.
Skills
  • Excellent writing skills (drafting, analysis, and review of proposals, technical and strategic documents) are required.
  • Master project management.
  • Excellent proficiency in English, both oral and written, is essential. Proficiency in Arabic and/or French is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in office suites and computer tools is essential.
Abilities
  • Leadership and promotion of teamwork, adaptability, customer focus, rigour, ability to solve problems.
LOCATION

Position based in Riyadh, with travel possibilities within and outside the country.
