We’re looking for a Storage Engineer to join my client IT Infrastructure team. You’ll play a key role in designing, managing, and supporting enterprise-grade storage platforms across hybrid environments. The role covers SAN, NAS, object storage, and disaster recovery, ensuring scalability, resilience, and high availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and fine‑tune SAN, NAS, and object storage infrastructures.
- Configure and support NFS shares, SMB shares, S3 buckets, and iSCSI volumes.
- Monitor storage performance, capacity, and availability to ensure system health.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery (DR) and replication solutions.
- Support both synchronous and asynchronous replication across diverse platforms.
- Ensure compliance with business continuity objectives (RPO/RTO).
- Provide day‑to‑day operational oversight, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
- Work closely with virtualization, networking, and server teams to guarantee seamless storage delivery.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis for storage issues and recommend preventive measures.
- Integrate storage with virtualization platforms (e.g., Nutanix AHV, VMware) and backup tools.
- Support automation initiatives for provisioning, reporting, and monitoring.
- Conduct capacity forecasting and lifecycle management of storage platforms.
- Participate in storage refresh, migration, and consolidation projects.
- Ensure systems align with IT security standards, compliance, and audit requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- At least 3 years in enterprise storage engineering within multi‑vendor ecosystems.
- Solid experience with SAN, NAS, and object storage systems.
- Proficiency in NFS, SMB, iSCSI, S3, and SAN zoning.
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery and replication technologies.
- Familiarity with backup/restore and enterprise data protection.
- Scripting/automation knowledge (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible) is an advantage.
Preferred Certifications
- Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) – Multicloud Infrastructure
- HPE GreenLake certifications
- SNIA Certified Storage Engineer (SCSE) or equivalent
- ITIL Foundation (Operations & Process Alignment)
