Job summary

A leading multi-sector firm in Saudi Arabia is seeking a highly motivated Sr Project Engineer specializing in shutdowns and manufacturing. The role involves managing and executing projects efficiently during planned shutdowns, ensuring minimal production disruption. Key responsibilities include planning and coordinating shutdown execution, supervising site activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with pressure vessels and static equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

  • 8-12+ years of hands-on experience in shutdown/turnaround projects.
  • Proven experience in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, and static equipment maintenance.
  • Experience working with major clients (ARAMCO, SABIC, SWCC, Ma'aden is an advantage)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance projects.
  • Develop shutdown execution plans, schedules, manpower planning, and resource allocation.
  • Prepare project documents such as method statements, ITPs, risk assessments, and work packs.
  • Supervise fabrication, repair, and reinstallation of static equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and safe shutdown execution.

As we expand our operations, we are seeking a highly motivated Sr Project Engineer specializing in shutdowns and manufacturing to join our team. This role is critical in managing and executing projects efficiently during planned shutdowns, ensuring minimal production disruption and optimal plant operations.

Job Purpose

The Senior Project Engineer will lead and manage shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance projects related to pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, and other static equipment. The role ensures efficient planning, execution, and completion of shutdown activities within schedule, cost, and safety guidelines.

  • Project Planning & Coordination
  • Develop shutdown execution plans, schedules, manpower planning, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams for smooth project execution.
  • Prepare project documents such as method statements, ITPs, risk assessments, and work packs.
  • Lead on-site shutdown execution for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and static equipment.
  • Monitor daily progress, ensure job quality, and manage site challenges in real-time.
  • Supervise fabrication, repair, re-tubing, hydrotesting, bundle pulling, gasket replacement, and reinstallation.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, isometrics, and scope of work.
  • Identify technical issues and propose effective engineering solutions.
  • Ensure all jobs are completed as per ASME, API, and client standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and safe shutdown execution.
  • Verify QA/QC activities including NDT, inspection reports, and test records.
  • Ensure final documentation, close-out reports, and client approvals.
  • Communicate with client representatives, shutdown managers, and inspectors.
  • Conduct daily and weekly meetings, presenting progress and challenges.
  • Manage subcontractors and ensure alignment with project goals
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, and static equipment maintenance.
