Responsibilities

In the role of Transportation Planner, we\'ll count on you to:

  • Provide transportation planning services for transit, highway, state agencies, cities and counties
  • Take responsibility for corridor studies, forecast modeling, traffic analysis, transportation planning, and impact fee development
  • Assimilate and manage data
  • Collect project-related data as needed, which may include research, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, land use surveys, and socioeconomic analysis
  • Prepare constraints mapping
  • Prepare required documents such as categorical exclusions, environmental assessments, environmental impact studies and other technical reports
  • Assist in preparation for and participate in public information meetings and hearings
  • Perform other duties as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Planning, Engineering or a related field
  • A minimum of 10 years\' experience with transportation planning
  • Possess excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Understanding of transit planning principles
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnel
  • Solid business development skills; demonstrated ability to relate well to clients; and demonstrated presentation skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering, Planning or closely related field
  • A minimum of 5 years experience with transportation planning
  • MS Office, CAD, ArcInfo/ArcView
