The Team

The Role

The primary role of the Finance Solution Advisor is to present the value of SAP Finance and Risk Management portfolio. This role requires advanced knowledge of Finance Operations, Financial Planning & Analytics, Accounting & Financial Close, and Treasury & Working Capital Management, with an ability to understand deep integration and financial experience. You will learn Best Run Finance to position the intelligent enterprise and demonstrate value to both the CFO and other executives.

The Solution Advisor interacts with prospective customers through executive meetings, discovery conversations, solution demonstrations, executive presentations, and follow-up discussions. During active sales cycles, the advisor gains customer acceptance that SAP solutions solve their problem and stands out against competitors. They may also serve as a Solution/Deal Captain and collaborate with Sales and Industry Value Engineering teams to plan and execute business development strategies using Design Thinking tools.

The Advisor is knowledgeable in finance business processes and adoption of new technologies, with value added by cloud implementation best practices.

As a Finance and Risk specialist, you may focus on one or more areas below.

DEAL SUPPORT:

  • Compose and deliver superior sales presentations covering SAP and partner software solutions to prospective customer audiences, articulating the sales message, differentiating SAP, and leaving a strong impression, including senior executives.
  • Prepare and deliver value-based software demonstrations/presentations tailored for sales cycles.
  • Conduct discovery sessions before demonstrations to understand client needs and build relationships.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of SAP solutions and relevant industries to maintain credibility, with proof points from customer stories.
  • Support RFI & RFP completion for proposals.
  • Present effectively in virtual environments (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
  • Provide limited post-sale support to key customers to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Able to lead as a Solution Captain for complex multi-LOB deals.
  • Leverage support teams (Global/Regional Solution Specialists, CoEs, Industry Value Engineers, Solution Hubs, Deal Advisors, etc.).

DEMAND GENERATION:

  • Support one-to-many sales and marketing events on-site and virtually.
  • Lead and support Design Thinking workshops to promote new solutions.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify whitespace opportunities at accounts.

SOLUTION ADVISORY READINESS:

  • Develop relationships with market unit sales teams to promote effective sales methodologies.
  • Participate in demo scenario design, planning, configuration as needed, and provide input for new product releases; train peers.
  • Serve as a champion or leader in LOB or Solution Hubs and transfer knowledge to colleagues.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in SAP Finance implementation or a relevant Finance/Accounting role
  • Experience in Finance Operations, Financial Planning & Analytics, Accounting & Financial Close, Treasury & Working Capital Management, or Enterprise Risk and Management
  • Experience in Finance operations is a plus
  • Demonstrates 5-7 successful engagements implementing Financial Solutions
  • Expert knowledge of end-to-end processes/solutions for banking, cash, and treasury risk management is a plus
  • Public accounting or internal audit experience a plus
  • Experience in sales and sales processes
  • 3-5 years of presales experience preferred
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills; English proficient; local language proficiency preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor equivalent: minimum requirement
  • Master equivalent: MBA preferred
  • Certified Treasury Professional / PhD: optional
