Senior Software Engineer – Finastra Equation (AS400/IBM i)

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in Finastra Equation core banking, working on AS400 / IBM i platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep exposure to core banking development, customization, and integration, supporting mission‑critical banking systems in a production environment. This role requires both technical strength and banking domain understanding, particularly in core banking operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, customize, and maintain Finastra Equation core banking modules.
• Work on AS400 / IBM i environments, ensuring system stability and performance.
• Develop and enhance RPG / RPG IV / COBOL programs related to core banking workflows.
• Handle batch processing, End of Day (EOD) jobs, and system interfaces.
• Collaborate with business and banking stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Support core banking integrations with other banking systems and channels.
• Perform debugging, issue resolution, and root cause analysis in production environments.
• Ensure adherence to banking security, compliance, and audit standards.
• Participate in system upgrades, patches, and core banking enhancements.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in core banking development.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Finastra Equation (or Misys Equation).
• Solid knowledge of AS400 / IBM i / iSeries platforms.
• Proficiency in RPG, RPG IV, and/or COBOL.
• Experience with DB2 databases.
• Strong understanding of batch jobs, EOD processing, and banking workflows.
• Experience working in production banking environments.
• Strong understanding of core banking operations (accounts, transactions, balances, postings).
• Experience working with banks or financial institutions.
• Familiarity with regulatory, security, and compliance requirements in banking systems.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to Saudi Arabia.
