A leading solar technology company in the Makkah Region is seeking a Quality Laboratory Technician. This role involves performing daily laboratory tests to support production quality control and ensuring the accuracy of inspection data. Candidates should have a diploma in a relevant field, with 1-3 years of experience in laboratory testing. Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of chemical testing methods is advantageous. The position offers opportunities for collaboration and continuous improvement in quality processes.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of laboratory testing or quality inspection experience.
  • Experience in metal processing or coating testing is an advantage.
  • Basic English communication required; Chinese or Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct sampling and testing of raw materials and products.
  • Perform quality tests such as hardness and tensile testing.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and prepare reports.
  • Carry out maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment.
  • Follow EHS rules and ensure safe operations.
  • Work with engineers to support product improvement initiatives.

Job Description – Quality Laboratory Technician

1. Basic Information

  • Position Title: Quality Laboratory Technician
  • Department: Quality Department (Laboratory)
  • Reporting to: Laboratory Supervisor
  • Location: Chinese-invested PV Tracking Structure Factory in Saudi Arabia
2. Position Objective

Responsible for performing daily laboratory testing tasks to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of inspection data for raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods, supporting production quality control and customer delivery.

3. Key Responsibilities
3.1 Sample Testing
  • Conduct sampling and testing of raw materials (steel, bolts), semi-finished, and finished products according to standards.
3.2 Physical & Chemical Testing
  • Perform quality tests such as hardness, tensile, impact, coating thickness, galvanization adhesion, and salt spray testing.
3.3 Records & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and prepare test reports to ensure data traceability.
3.4 Equipment & Calibration
  • Carry out daily maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment.
  • Assist in periodic calibration and ensure equipment functionality.
3.5 Compliance & Safety
  • Follow all EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) rules and regulations.
  • Use laboratory PPE properly to ensure safe operations.
3.6 Collaboration & Improvement
  • Work with quality engineers to support non-conformance analysis and product improvement initiatives.
4. Requirements
4.1 Education
  • Diploma or above in Materials, Chemistry, Quality Testing, or related field preferred.
4.2 Experience
  • 1–3 years of laboratory testing or quality inspection experience.
  • Experience in metal processing or coating testing is an advantage.
4.3 Skills
  • Knowledge of common physical/chemical testing methods and lab equipment operation.
  • Ability to read testing standards and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Word for data analysis and reporting.
4.4 Language
  • Basic English communication required; Chinese or Arabic is a plus.
