What will you be doing?
Subsea 7 is looking for a Quality Control Supervisor who provides guidance and advice regarding the effective management of quality assurance and control, delivering quality management and improvement support to the projects and Functions within the designated area of responsibility. The candidate must have experience related to construction & installation activities at onshore and offshore for piping, structural and spool fabrication, onshore and offshore pipeline installation, jacket and top‑side installation, flexible, cable and umbilical installation, HUC and pre‑commissioning activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development, maintenance and refinement of local quality programmes and policies.
- Support in the development of Project Quality Management Plans and Audit Plans in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and internal Subsea 7 requirements, in liaison with the project management team.
- Assist the construction & installation team in evaluating and addressing project quality requirements identified in invitations to bid.
- Identify risk related to construction & installation quality inspection.
- Ensure all project personnel are aware of the quality requirements, quality inductions are completed, and organise training sessions as needed.
- Utilise knowledge‑management tools to capitalise on lessons learned and perform in accordance with best practice, mitigating risk and promoting safety and integrity consistently.
- Ensure project quality compliance for the construction and installation phases and effective implementation of the project quality management system.
- Coordinate, prepare, establish and implement project quality procedures.
- Review subcontract documents (SOW, TBE, etc.) and arrange kick‑off meetings.
- Assess subcontractor capability to meet the quality requirements of the project; ensure that project quality requirements are clearly identified in invitations to bid and SOW.
- Post‑award, review subcontractor quality management plans to ensure correct interpretation of client/Subsea 7 requirements.
- Coordinate with client regarding construction & installation activities such as onshore and offshore pipeline installation, jacket and top‑side installation.
- QC inspector/TPI management for inspection activities onshore and offshore.
- Appraise product quality in accordance with specifications, technical specifications, procedures, drawings and quality plans.
- Review the construction and installation data book after completion of work.
- Identify non‑quality trends and advise the Project Quality Manager for resolution.
- Establish effective corrective and preventive measures and a corrective action plan to prevent recurrence of deficiencies.
- Verify closeout of punch‑list items onshore and offshore.
- Project quality surveillance, including system and process effectiveness, monitoring trends, and ensuring feedback mechanisms from customers to promote process improvement.
- Supervise the quality control functions and activities of a project or its parts, including inspection schedules and collection of quality records.
- Allocate and supervise quality control personnel in the various areas of site activity.
What experience would we like you to have?
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A diploma, degree or qualification in engineering or quality management with a minimum of 10 years overall experience and 5 years as a quality control supervisor for positions in the project quality for welding and piping disciplines in the HSSEQ department.
- Internationally accredited (e.g. IRCA or ASQ) quality auditor training course and examination for ISO 9001 (latest version).
- CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2.
- ASNT NDT Level II in RT, UT, PT, VT & MT.
- NACE qualification as per applicable discipline.
- Supervisory experience of projects related to EPC oil and gas production and petrochemical projects.
- Documented auditing experience as lead auditor.
- Capable of handling a minimum of 15 QC inspectors.
- Proficiency in reading, writing & speaking English.
- Familiarity with MS Office.
- Understanding of welding, NDT, coating and electrical & instrumentation.

- Sound communication skills – able to communicate ideas and results to stakeholders in written reports and in meetings, presentations, etc.

- Willingness and flexibility to travel across the region and offshore for short assignments.
