Shift Production Supervisor

Responsibilities
- Monitor and control shift production activities to achieve given shift production targets with right quality.
- Design new processes and provide facilities & methods to ensure cost‑effective integration of new products or improvement of existing ones into manufacturing operations.
- Ensure quality with continuous follow‑ups with the production team.
- Assist with shop‑floor layout and cell designs; develop fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks.
- Generate production documentation such as assembly work instructions, reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard work methods and instructions.
- Ensure product and process quality meets specifications required.
- Oversee installation of machinery and equipment.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow space requirements and equipment layout to remove waste from the processes.
- Organize plant start‑up and shut‑down schedules to ensure minimum loss of production time.
- Plan and organize maintenance; respond to breakdowns; report downtime and possible trends.
- Support and lead continuous improvement, problem‑solving and process improvement activities.
- Carry out FMEAs, process documentation and implement improvements; implement Poka‑Yoke where possible to prevent errors.
- Investigate production and process issues, providing technical support and training.
- Keep up with current and developing engineering trends; undertake special projects as required.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
- Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients.
- Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Attend various meetings and communicate instructions.
- Produce written reports and make presentations.
- Undertake continuous training and development.
- Lead a team of production workers; provide guidance, support, and hands‑on training.
- Maintain safety protocols and foster a positive working environment.
- Identify and address production or equipment issues; coordinate with engineering and QC teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Conduct regular inspections of the fabrication process and finished goods to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain detailed records of production activities, inspections and quality checks.
- Ensure proper inventory management of raw materials and finished products; coordinate with Production Engineer to minimize production delays.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Graduate degree.
- Proven 7‑10 years of experience as a Production Supervisor.
- Flexible and willing to work in shifts.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- In‑depth knowledge of fabrication processes, machinery and materials.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Good knowledge of HSE and 5S standards.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a Production role preferably within an automotive or steel fabrication manufacturing environment.
- Ability to add value, reduce costs and drive business improvement.
- Knowledge of various processes – fabrication, product assembly, plating, etc.
- Demonstrable experience of running shifts production in the automotive industry.
- Full understanding of the requirements of running production shifts such as health and safety, security and certification of dangerous goods handling and aviation security.
- Team player with strong organizational skills.
