Position Summary
The Product Owner – SME Banking Products is responsible for defining, developing, and delivering banking products and services targeted at Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The role requires deep understanding of SME needs, strong collaboration with cross‑functional teams, and the ability to translate business goals into high‑impact product features. This position acts as the bridge between business stakeholders, technology teams, compliance, risk, and customer experience functions to ensure successful product execution.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Planning
- Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for SME banking products (e.g., SME loans, credit lines, working capital solutions, deposit products, digital SME platforms).
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, customer interviews, and data analysis to identify SME customer needs and market opportunities.
- Align product strategy with overall bank objectives, compliance, and risk frameworks.
Backlog & Feature Development
- Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog based on business value, customer impact, and strategic priorities.
- Write clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirements.
- Work closely with Agile delivery teams to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality features.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and development teams.
- Collaborate with Sales, Relationship Management, Digital Channels, Risk, Compliance, and Marketing to refine requirements and validate product concepts.
- Present product updates, insights, and performance to senior management.
Customer & Market Focus
- Use customer analytics, feedback loops, and industry insights to enhance product offerings.
- Champion SME customer experience and usability across all touchpoints.
- Drive customer testing, pilot programmes, and go‑to‑market efforts.
Product Launch & Performance
- Support product launches including training, documentation, communications, regulatory filings (if needed), pricing, and sales enablement.
- Monitor product performance using key metrics (e.g., adoption, revenue, retention, risk indicators).
- Drive continuous improvement based on product KPIs and customer feedback.
