Job description
Job Purpose

Responsible for managing petroleum engineering activities, reservoir simulation, reservoir engineering, reservoir characterization to deliver value and ensure optimal hydrocarbon recovery. Evaluate and govern the execution of field development, and reserves growth including drilling & workovers, ensuring alignment with KJO shareholders strategic objectives. Support KJO in technical planning and strategic investment.

Key Accountabilities & Duties
  • Responsible for managing natural resources exploration projects within a specific area or within the boundaries of a specific identified project.
  • Responsible for managing interpretation of petrophysical data for resource estimates.
  • Manages collaboration with other teams to plan and execute data gathering during drilling campaigns.
  • Manages analyses of petroleum reservoir rock fluid content using data collected during drilling and provides high quality analyses during drilling.
  • Manages determination of hydrocarbon volume and flow that can be used to optimize reservoir productivity.
  • Oversee geological, geophysical, reservoir engineering, and modelling activities.
  • Responsible for managing the acquisition, assembly and interpretation of geologic and geophysical data for the exploration of oil & gas.
  • Manages recommendation, designs, plans and executes both reconnaissance and detailed property geophysical exploration programs.
  • Responsible for managing application of analytical and reservoir simulation techniques to forecast reservoir performance and reserve assessments, providing technical and economic support to optimize existing producing assets and assess acquisition opportunities, creating operations plan, determining exploitation methods, identifying optimal drilling and completion strategies, evaluating and improving depletion strategies.
  • Carries out leadership responsibilities following the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; managing organizational structure.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies; conduct site visits as needed.
  • Advocates safety culture across the organization.
  • Undertakes accountabilities in the operational excellence process as set out in the schedule of responsibilities.
  • Provides environmental, health, and safety leadership in maintaining a goal of zero incidents, process safety and environmental events within the area of responsibility.
  • Drive innovation in subsurface technologies, data integration, and analysis.
  • Ensure inter-departmental coordination within AGOC & KJO.
  • Performs any other relevant task as directed by Executive Director Upstream.
Qualifications
