Job description

The Investment Analyst supports deal sourcing, financial analysis, due diligence, investment committee preparation, and portfolio monitoring across Impact Capital’s strategies (e.g., private equity, private credit, venture, and/or public markets as per mandate). The role combines rigorous modeling with market/sector research to help originate high‑quality opportunities and improve portfolio returns while maintaining disciplined risk management.

Deal Sourcing & Screening
  • Track target sectors, build lists of potential targets (companies/funds), and maintain the deal pipeline CRM.
  • Conduct initial screens (market size, unit economics, competitive positioning, valuation sanity checks).
  • Coordinate NDAs, data‑room access, and management intro calls.
Financial Modeling & Valuation
  • Build and maintain three‑statement models, DCF/LBO/comps, returns analyses (IRR/MOIC), and downside cases.
  • Perform trading and transaction comps, precedent analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Stress‑test assumptions;document model logic for transparency and reproducibility.
Due Diligence
  • Support commercial,financial, legal, tax, and operational diligence; coordinate Q&A and data requests.
  • Analyze cohorts, retention,CAC/LTV, margin bridges, working capital cycles, covenant headroom (credit).
  • Summarize findings and red flags with clear implications and mitigants.
Investment Committee (IC) Materials
  • Draft teasers, one‑pagers,and full IC memos with thesis, valuation, returns, risks, and sensitivities.
  • Prepare slides and talking points; maintain an audit trail of sources and assumptions.
Portfolio Monitoring & Value Creation
  • Update monthly/quarterly dashboards: KPI trends, covenant reporting (if credit), and variance analysis.
  • Assist with initiatives (pricing, go‑to‑market, ops improvements) and track value‑creation workstreams.
  • Support exit preparation (data‑books, vendor DD, buyer lists) when relevant.
Research & Insights
  • Produce sector briefs (TAM/SAM/SOM, regulatory, supply chain, competitive moats).
  • Track macro indicators (rates, FX, commodities) and their impact on pipeline and portfolio.
  • Maintain a knowledge base of sources, reports, and playbooks.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or related.
  • Experience: 0–3 years in investment banking, private equity/credit, equity research, consulting, or FP&A with heavy modeling. High‑performing fresh graduates may be considered with strong internships.
  • Certifications (nice to have): CME1, CME4
