Job Purpose

Engineer II, Construction Road supports the planning, supervision, and execution of road construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. This role involves assisting in site operations, material testing, and project documentation under the guidance of senior engineering staff.

Principal Accountabilities
Policies, Processes & Procedures
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain a productive work environment.
  • Implement and uphold safety and security protocols to protect the well‑being of all employees and company assets.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough interpretation of Issued for Construction (IFC) mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and contractual requirements before initiating inspections.
  2. Monitor ongoing site activities and promptly notify the responsible QA/QC Engineer, Supervisor, or relevant personnel of any deviations from approved specifications or procedures.
  3. Execute inspections and tests as outlined in the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), ensuring full compliance with quality control protocols.
  4. Record inspection and test results accurately using designated forms, checklists, and documentation tools as specified in the ITP.
  5. Collaborate effectively with the project team to facilitate and complete site inspections.
  6. Identify and report any outstanding or remedial works to the responsible Site Engineer, Supervisor, or Foreman, ensuring timely resolution.
  7. Perform in-process and final inspections on mechanical installations, including piping systems, supports, valves, flanges, pumps, and equipment alignment.
  8. Witness and verify hydrostatic, pneumatic, and leak tests by project specifications and safety standards.
  9. Prepare comprehensive handover documentation packages, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and contractor instructions.
  10. Inspect mechanical installations such as water supply systems, sewage networks, stormwater drainage, firefighting systems, and pumping stations, verifying adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  11. Foster and maintain positive working relationships with site personnel, client representatives, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and communication.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering

7 Years (2 years in construction and 5 years as quality Inspector in construction field infrastructure projects)
