Job Description / Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of refrigeration technicians, ensuring that daily tasks are carried out effectively and on schedule.
  • Assign tasks, provide guidance, and monitor the performance of team members to ensure quality work.
  • Conduct regular talks and team briefings to discuss work plans, safety measures, and updates.
  • Oversee routine maintenance, inspections, and repair activities for industrial refrigeration systems, including compressors, evaporators, condensers, and controls.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with established procedures and safety standards.
  • Provide hands on assistance for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Guide technicians in performing repairs, adjustments, and replacements of faulty components.
  • Enforce adherence to safety protocols, particularly in handling refrigerants, pressurized equipment, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct safety checks and ensure all work complies with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Monitor and manage tools and equipment used by the team, ensuring they are in good condition and available when needed.
  • Assist in managing spare parts inventory and coordinating with the relevant team for replenishment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between technicians and the engineering or management team.
  • Report daily activities, system status, and any challenges encountered to the relevant supervisor or engineer.
  • Train new technicians on operational procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and safety practices.
  • Conduct periodic skill enhancement sessions for the team to improve their technical knowledge.
  • Respond promptly to system failures or emergencies, coordinating the team to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure the team is prepared for after duty hour’s calls and emergency situations.
  • Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Assist in preparing reports for the engineering team regarding system performance and maintenance needs.
  • Inspect facilities periodically to determine problems and necessary maintenance.
  • Prepare BOQ for maintenance and renovation works. - supervise tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.)
  • Inspect and maintain building systems (heating, ventilation etc.).
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance.
  • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment.
  • Participate in coordination of projects (e.g. renovations). - Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Regularly inspect and test firefighting systems, including fire extinguishers, fire hoses, sprinklers, and alarm systems, to ensure they are fully operational and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to schedule and oversee the maintenance and servicing of Racking system, firefighting equipment & backup generators ensuring all systems are in optimal working condition and ready for emergency use.
  • Ensure that firefighting systems are strategically placed and ready for use during emergencies. Assist in developing and executing fire drills and emergency response plans, with a focus on effective use of firefighting equipment.
