Job Overview
The Facility Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and improving building infrastructure, mechanical systems, and facility operations to ensure optimal functionality, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires hands‑on experience in facility management, preventive and corrective maintenance, vendor coordination, and project execution. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge in MEP systems, HVAC operations, electrical installations, plumbing works, and building safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day facility operations, ensuring uninterrupted functioning of utilities, building systems, and equipment.
- Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, firefighting, and civil systems.
- Inspect and monitor facility conditions regularly, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with third‑party contractors, suppliers, and service providers for facility upgrades, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
- Maintain detailed documentation including maintenance logs, equipment records, inspection reports, and compliance certificates.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
- Ensure energy optimization by monitoring utility consumption and suggesting cost‑effective measures.
- Support project planning, budgeting, and execution for facility modifications, renovations, or expansions.
- Implement workplace safety procedures and ensure adherence to HSE policies and emergency response protocols.
- Provide technical support to management regarding infrastructure improvements, asset management, and service contracts.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–7 years of experience in facility management, building maintenance, or MEP engineering (GCC experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical power distribution, plumbing installations, fire safety systems, and building automation systems.
Skills Required
- Proficiency in facility maintenance planning, MEP systems troubleshooting, and asset management.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and compliance standards applicable in Saudi Arabia.
- Hands‑on experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or similar maintenance software.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose technical issues effectively.
- Excellent vendor and contractor management abilities.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with operations staff and report to management.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
