Job description

The Opportunity

The Engineer under the authority of the Facilities Management Contract Manager for the Dammam Airport (King Fahd International Airport) will manage and supervise the execution of the maintenance tasks of AVDGS, Aipron 360 and the Ground Power Units Facilities Management contract at King Fahd International Airport. He/She will assess airport repair and maintenance needs and oversee day‑to‑day operations.

Responsibilities
  • Manages the maintenance team with direct responsibility for the maintenance of electronics systems and devices installed at the airport
    • Supervises, plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the work of employees.
    • Adjusts assignments, procedures, and schedules as necessary.
    • Schedules, assigns work, and programs overtime, vacations, and other time off.
    • Participates in the selection process for subordinate personnel.
  • Manage the execution of the maintenance tasks under defined scope
    • Manage the work orders: issuance, execution, and reports.
    • Maintains records and prepares reports related to airfield maintenance and repair activities.
    • Ensure adequacy in spare parts, tools and equipment, vehicles, and other resources.
    • Coordinates daily with the FM Contract Manager the schedule of the unplanned activities that require extra staff support.
    • Set up Preventative, Planned and Unplanned maintenance for the scope of works contained in the maintenance plan.
    • Follow up, evaluate, and optimize all PM (Preventive Maintenance) procedures.
    • Follows CM WOs and closes the completed WOs within the Computer Aided Facility Management System (CAFM).
    • Prepares and submits for approval to the Customer Representative the required Permit to Work (PTW) requests in a proper and timely manner.
    • Enforces safety rules and regulations and is responsible for work progressing according to project plans and specifications.
    • Prepare, sign and forward to FM Contract Manager for approval all the documents required to be submitted to the Customer Representative.
    • Obtains cost figures and estimates for various accounts in the preparation of the maintenance contract budget.
    • Makes recommendations for the need of additional capital equipment and the replacement of existing equipment as well as for required spare parts.
    • Schedules with the FM Contract Manager the necessary actions for control, supervision, and actualization of the technical documentation.
    • Subject to regular on‑call/recall and is required to participate in the Airport’s stand‑by program.
    • Responsible for the achievement of the SLA contract KPI’s.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in electrical/electronic engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance including specific experience in AVDGS and airport management systems (SAM, Airon 360, etc.)
  • Skilled in the use of standard and specialized tools used in this work.
  • Ability to interpret, understand and effectively carry out complex oral and written technical instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate via radio with the air traffic control tower and comply with related rules and regulations regarding vehicle usage inside airport movement and non‑movement areas.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and submit recommendations for improved maintenance operations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and airport operator.
  • Considerable ability to supervise, train, motivate and inspect the work of subordinates.
  • Knowledge of international safety rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of ICAO standards.
  • Excellent spoken and written English is required and any other language is an asset.
