A leading energy company in the region is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to carry out maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of electrical equipment in a power plant and desalination facility. The ideal candidate should have a Technical College Diploma, 3-15 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in SAP and English. Ensuring safe operations and adherence to health and safety standards is critical, along with being available for call-outs as needed.

Job description
Position Summary

The role requires to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing of all electrical equipment and systems in the Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) and Desalination Plant. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical assets, supporting uninterrupted power and water production. The Job Holder will work closely with other Electrical Technicians to ensure Plant Routines are carried out efficiently and to high quality standards.

Technical
  • Responsible to ensure compliance of IMS.
  • Practical experience of maintaining Electrical equipment gained through hands on experience and formal training.
  • Organizing spares, tools and equipment to carry out maintenance activities
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on a range of major Electrical systems in accordance with OEM Manuals and industrial best practices for the equipment.
  • Performs troubleshooting activities independently as necessary to determine failure conditions and rectifies the defects found.
  • Works with Plant Operations Personnel for resolving problems encountered with control equipment under the guidance/instructions of the ELECTRICAL Foreman/Engineer.
  • Ability to carry out duties with minimum supervision
  • Practical knowledge of plant isolations from system hazards
  • Sufficient Knowledge of health & safety and safe working practices
  • Support department for improvement in safety culture
  • Ensures a safe working environment for himself and his colleagues while working on any equipment
  • Computer literacy including SAP and MS Office
  • Good command of English Language
  • Supports the 24-hour operation by being available for call-out at short notice as needed
  • Records and reports to the Foreman all PM/CM jobs undertaken
  • Follow and respect company rules and procedures
  • Achieve all necessary permit authorizations with respect to Electrical Systems
  • Shall possess valid Saudi driving license
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
  • Update CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) after every activity
  • Participate in technical training and continuous development programs.
  • It is preferred that employee to reside in the city of Jubail for quick reach to plant in case of emergency
Physical Health & Capacity Requirements
  • Be medically fit to work in power plant conditions, including exposure to high voltage, heat, noise, and confined spaces.
  • Possess sufficient strength and stamina to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods during inspections and supervision.
  • Have the ability to work at heights and in elevated areas, including scaffolds and overhead cranes.
  • Be capable of lifting and handling electrical tools and equipment weighing up to 20-25 kg.
  • Maintain good vision (with corrective lenses if required) and hearing to safely monitor electrical systems and alarms.
  • Exhibit strong hand-eye coordination and dexterity for handling electrical components
  • Be able to respond promptly and physically in emergency or fault conditions, including rapid movement to safe locations.
  • Tolerate rotating shifts, extended working hours, emergency callouts physically demanding schedules as per plant operational needs.
  • Be free from medical conditions that may impair alertness, balance, or safe performance of electrical supervision duties.
