Role Overview

The Commissioning Engineer is a key member of the Commissioning Services Team, responsible for delivering an exceptional post-sales experience to customers. This role focuses on executing on-site testing and commissioning of solar PV tracker systems, providing high-level technical support, and managing customer engagement throughout the commissioning and corrective maintenance phases. The engineer ensures all systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

Strict adherence to safety protocols, including PPE usage and site compliance, is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
1. System Testing & Commissioning
  • Perform complete on-site testing and commissioning of solar tracker systems in line with customer schedules and project specifications.
  • Validate system performance, functionality, and integration prior to project handover.
2. Field Training
  • Deliver comprehensive technical training to field teams and partner organizations to ensure proper system operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
3. Controller & System Support
  • Provide expert technical support on tracker controllers during commissioning and routine maintenance activities.
  • Assist in configuring, calibrating, and optimizing field devices and control systems.
4. Customer Acceptance & Handover
  • Lead final commissioning activities to secure customer acceptance and initiate warranty activation.
  • Ensure all documentation, test reports, and acceptance certificates are accurately completed.
5. Customer Interface & Technical Communication
  • Act as the main technical point of contact on-site, resolving issues and maintaining clear communication with customers and partners.
  • Ensure timely escalation of technical challenges when required.
6. Documentation & Standards Compliance
  • Prepare and maintain high-quality technical drawings, reports, and commissioning documentation following company standards and templates.
  • Support version control and continuous improvement of documentation.
7. Third-Party Evaluation
  • Participate in the qualification and assessment of third-party O&M service providers to ensure compliance with company standards.
8. Product Development & Field Testing
  • Support R&D initiatives by participating in field testing of new products, prototypes, and technologies.
  • Provide structured feedback to enhance product reliability and performance.
9. Remote Support Collaboration
  • Work closely with the remote Technical Support team to troubleshoot field issues and contribute to the knowledge base through lessons learned.
10. Sales & Marketing Support
  • Provide technical assistance to sales and marketing teams as needed, including client demos, presentations, and pre-sales technical clarifications.
11. Safety Compliance
  • Consistently adhere to site safety protocols and company HSE standards.
  • Properly use PPE and actively contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.

Education Requirements
