Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Area Sales Manager to join our team. You will report to the Service Sales Manager Middle East and develop sales plans and strategies based on knowledge of the market, customers, competitors, and Hitachi Energy install base to capture opportunities, increase Hitachi Energy market share, and effectively apply the sales tools to capture opportunities, manage customer relations, improve internal communications, and increase sales efficiency.

- Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote understanding of the full services offering, align to provide a solution, ensure a positive customer experience throughout the sales process, and build long-term customer commitment in complex business situations.
- Maintaining and utilizing an extensive network of contacts both inside and outside the organization to achieve sales goals, create added value for the customer and Hitachi Energy, and ensure successful outcomes by using value-based selling.
- Actively identifying short- and long-term opportunities to increase sales within own area of responsibility, balancing short-term success with long-term effectiveness, taking initiative in complex tasks and projects, and coaching colleagues to overcome obstacles in dealing with challenges.
- Creating significant business opportunities based on analysis of customers and relevant competitors’ market strategies, and suggesting solutions to meet changing needs.
- Negotiating contract conditions including commercial, financial, and legal terms to improve terms and conditions, complying with the risk management process to ensure cost efficiency, minimizing risks in the sales process and related tools, and ensuring full understanding of the sales process.
- Participating in the improvement of the sales process and related tools and training colleagues in using the sales tools and understanding the sales process.
- Fully understanding the service portfolio to sell services and create service opportunities for products, and analyzing the customer situation on the installed base.
- Proposing Hitachi Energy service solutions to solve specific issues, proactively working with customers to explore operational needs and expectations, analyzing customer expectations to recommend solutions, and negotiating deviations to reach a win-win situation.
- Taking ownership of specific customer cases to ensure efficient issue resolution.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in sales, with preference for Grid Automation & Services background.
- Proven experience in contract management and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
