Job Overview
We are seeking qualified and certified API 653 Inspectors to perform inspections, evaluations, and certification of aboveground storage tanks in oil & gas, refinery, and petrochemical facilities. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of inspection methodologies, standards, and safety compliance practices relevant to tank inspection and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct external and internal inspections of aboveground storage tanks in accordance with API 653 standards.
- Evaluate tank conditions through visual inspection, ultrasonic thickness measurement, and settlement assessment.
- Review and interpret fabrication drawings, design data, welding procedures, and material test certificates.
- Monitor tank repair, alteration, and reconstruction work for compliance with applicable codes and client specifications.
- Prepare detailed inspection and compliance reports, including recommendations for maintenance and repair.
- Ensure adherence to relevant codes such as API, ASME, AWS, and ASTM standards.
- Verify and interpret results from non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods related to tank inspection.
- Participate in shutdown, turnaround, and risk‑based inspection (RBI) activities as per project requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspection records and calibration certificates.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, integrity, and quality assurance during all inspection activities.
Essential Qualifications
- Valid API 653 Certification (Tank Inspection).
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in storage tank inspection, repair, or maintenance.
- Familiarity with API 650, API 620, and related international standards.
- Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII, IX and AWS codes.
Skills Required
- Strong understanding of inspection techniques, tank design, and corrosion mechanisms.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of NDT techniques (UT, PT, MT, RT, etc.).
- Excellent report writing and data interpretation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work in high‑temperature, confined‑space, and field environments.
- Good communication and coordination skills with clients and project teams.
