A recognized educational institution in Mexico is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant for Grade 2 and 3 to support the development of pupils, including those with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have an NVQ Level 2/3 and experience in a classroom setting. A passion for fostering inclusive education is essential, along with the ability to build positive relationships with students.

Formación

Teaching Assistant (Grade 2 and 3)

City of Birmingham School is dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants to join our team and support the development and education of our pupils.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support teaching staff in the development and education of pupils, including those with special educational needs. This role calls for competence across a varied range of responsibilities, from supporting individual pupils to contributing to the overall school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils individually or in groups during learning activities.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with pupils.
  • Contribute to individual Education Plans and promote pupils' social and emotional development.
  • Assist pupils with literacy and numeracy skills and help them access the curriculum.
  • Provide support for bilingual/multilingual pupils and those with specific needs.
  • Observe and report on pupil performance and contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining the learning environment.
  • Contribute to the management of pupils' behaviour and maintain their safety and security.
  • Provide general administrative support and undertake routine marking.
  • Support the use of information and communication technology in the classroom.
  • Liaise with parents and develop working relationships with other professionals.
  • Participate in professional development and adhere to the school's ethos and policies.
Person Specification
  • NVQ Level 2/3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent.
  • Experience of supporting children in a classroom environment, including those with special educational needs.
  • Good standard of education, particularly in English and Mathematics.
  • Knowledge of SEN Code of Practice and behaviour management strategies.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with pupils and provide constructive feedback.
  • Willingness to participate in further training and development opportunities.
