A leading technology firm in San Luis Potosí is seeking a Purchasing Supervisor responsible for leading procurement projects and negotiating with strategic vendors. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sourcing complex goods and services, mentoring junior staff, and optimizing procurement strategies. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and possess strong negotiation and vendor management skills. This role requires the ability to work in a manufacturing environment with regular site visits.

  • Responsible for leading procurement projects and negotiations, developing and maintaining relationships with strategic vendors, and implementing procurement strategies that optimize cost, quality, and delivery. Also is responsible for mentoring buyers and coaching junior buyers.
  • Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for sourcing and purchasing complex goods and services for the organization.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Source and purchase complex goods and services for the organization.
  • Lead procurement projects and negotiations with strategic vendors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic vendors and suppliers.
  • Implement procurement strategies that optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for changes when necessary.
  • Analyze market trends and stay up to date on industry news and developments.
  • Mentor and coach junior buyers to ensure their professional development.
  • Work with other departments to identify their purchasing needs and develop procurement strategies.
  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures related to purchasing.
  • Ensure that all purchasing activities comply with legal and ethical standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 4-8 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, with a focus on strategic sourcing and vendor management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with strategic vendors and suppliers.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
  • The role is primarily based in a manufacturing facility, requiring regular site visits and interaction with production teams.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
  • The role involves extended periods of sitting in front of a computer.
  • Occasional standing or walking may be required during meetings, presentations, or site visits
  • Work is primarily conducted in an office environment with controlled temperature and lighting.
