An established industry player is seeking a Manufacturing Process Development Engineer to enhance processes for wire and cable manufacturing. Formación

  • Entry-level position with 1-2 years of wire & cable process engineering experience.
  • Preferred degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Plastics Engineering.

Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Process Development Engineer provides economical solutions to create & improve processes for the manufacture of wire & cable. This position interacts with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Cable Assembly Engineering, Manufacturing, Test laboratories, raw material suppliers and equipment manufacturers. This position is responsible for the development & industrialization activities required of a high precision, high bandwidth product base.

Primary Responsibilities, Tasks & Deliverables:
  1. Product / Process validation & transfer
  2. Assist with product qualification
  3. Process improvement & documentation - Bulk Cable
  4. Assist all areas of cable manufacturing as required.
  5. Support Product Development validation & qualification activities.
  6. Assist with organizing and running DOEs
  7. Support the development of PFMEA, 8D, FA
  8. Assist Tooling Specification & Design activities.
  9. Support SAFE Activities
  10. Support ISO Activities
  11. Provide Technical support for maintenance activities.
  12. Provide any support for any activities or projects necessary to support the business
What your background should look like:

Job Requirements/Experience Necessary:

  1. Manufacturing, Mechanical or Plastics Engineering Degree preferred.
  2. This is an entry-level position (can be adjusted depending on candidate)
  3. Minimum 1 to 2 years of wire & cable process engineering experience.
  4. Working Knowledge in SPC/Six Sigma/Lean
  5. CAD Experience Required
  6. Knowledge of materials, processes, and systems used in the manufacture of wire & cable a must.
  7. Up to 30% International Travel Required.
