Senior Manager, Value & Access – LATAM Region
Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Value & Access for the LATAM region will play a pivotal role in executing and supporting the regional market access and pricing strategies for the company’s portfolio. Reporting to the Sr Director of LATAM Distributor Markets, this role is responsible for driving operational excellence in pricing, reimbursement, and value demonstration initiatives in partnership with cross‑functional teams, distributors, and country leads. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the LATAM healthcare environment and be adept at collaborating with diverse stakeholders to ensure patient access to innovative therapies.
Essential Duties & Job Functions
- Support the development and execution of pricing and reimbursement strategies for key LATAM markets, including the preparation of dossiers and business cases in collaboration with Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR), Pricing, and cross‑functional teams.
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing pricing regulations, health policy changes, and reimbursement trends in key markets; proactively identify risks and opportunities and communicate implications to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with regional and country teams (including commercial, medical, HEOR, and government affairs) to adapt and implement local market access strategies tailored to the specific healthcare systems and payer environments.
- Monitor regulatory environment and anticipate the financial impact of pricing legislation changes; quantify the risks and opportunities for Gilead.
- Support strategic pricing insight generation and strategy generation work across the Gilead portfolio.
- Co‑create and implement operational value and access plans, ensuring alignment with regional objectives and effective execution with distributors and local partners.
- Track and report on the progress of key projects, ensuring timely deliverables; coordinate with external vendors and consultants as needed.
- Support the preparation and submission of pricing and reimbursement documentation for review and approval processes (e.g., GM, ICR, GPC).
- Contribute to the generation of insights on pricing, market access, and value demonstration across the product portfolio.
- Maintain strong relationships and regular communication with international market access and pricing teams.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and local regulations across all activities.
Competencies / Skills / Knowledge
- Demonstrated experience in market access, pricing, or reimbursement roles within the pharmaceutical industry; experience in HIV, hepatitis, or oncology is an advantage.
- Prior local or regional expertise in the South Cone is preferable.
- Strong financial and analytical acumen; ability to interpret complex data to inform recommendations.
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills, with fluency in both Spanish and English (Desirable Portuguese in addition).
- Knowledge of the LATAM healthcare landscape and payer environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to collaborate across functions and lead workstreams in a matrix environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities, balancing short‑term and long‑term objectives.
- Proactive problem‑solving skills and a hands‑on approach to project execution.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, health sciences, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in market access, pricing, commercial, or finance roles in the pharmaceutical industry.
- At least 5 years of experience working in or with South and Central American markets.
- Experience working with cross‑functional and multicultural teams.
Working Conditions
- Primarily administrative role (approx. 75%), with up to 25% travel for field activities and stakeholder engagement across the LATAM region.
- Hybrid work model with flexibility to work remotely and from regional offices as required (Mexico preferable but open to candidacies in Brazil or Colombia).
