We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Our client is seeking a Senior Database Administrator (Sr. DBA) located in Latin America to support the administration, configuration, performance tuning, and ongoing maintenance of MS SQL Server environments. This role requires strong experience managing SQL Server instances, ensuring database reliability, and supporting enterprise‑level database operations.

Candidates must bring hands‑on experience in MS SQL, instance management, backups, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The Sr. DBA will collaborate closely with development and infrastructure teams to ensure stable and optimized database environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments
• Perform ongoing instance management, including monitoring, patching, optimization, and security management
• Manage backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures
• Conduct performance tuning and troubleshoot SQL Server performance issues
• Optimize indexing, storage, and query performance for stable operations
• Implement best practices for database availability, reliability, and capacity planning
• Support database deployments, migrations, and upgrade projects
• Work with development teams to troubleshoot issues and improve database performance
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
• 4+ years of hands‑on experience with MS SQL Server
• Strong background in instance management (beyond query creation)
• Experience with performance tuning, monitoring tools, and optimization techniques
• Solid understanding of backup strategies, recovery models, and disaster recovery
• Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, T‑SQL) is a plus
• Excellent communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
