The client is a Chicago based social media growth company that supports clients with strategy, content creation, paid advertising, and brand development. After two years of sustained growth, the company is ready to scale operations by delegating core production tasks and freeing the owner to focus on high level strategy and client delivery.
We are hiring a full time Social Media Manager with strong creative skills and a deep understanding of content strategy across multiple platforms. This role combines social media management, video editing, and trend analysis. The person in this position will manage the company’s social media presence, handle internal content projects, and support selected client projects once their skills are verified. This is a creative role focused on quality, innovation, and consistent execution.
Creative by nature. They love making things like videos, graphics, and ideas. They get excited about trying new styles or trends. They like using AI tools to spark ideas, assist workflows, and speed up processes. Not to replace creativity. Has the ability to turn one piece of content into multiple formats.
Self-motivated. Give them a direction, and they’ll run with it. They’re organized, proactive, and follow through.
Curious + trend-aware. They keep up with what’s working on social media and naturally look for fresh ways to reshape and repurpose viral content. Curious about other services like branding, Google Ads, web design, and SEO. Knows about all ongoing projects for clients, and stays up to date on what other team members are up to for company content. Will learn to have a deep understanding of other services we offer during onboarding.
Easygoing + adaptable. They don’t get thrown off by switching tasks or trying something new. Variety energizes them.
Eager to learn. They’re excited about training, skill-building, and quarterly upskilling projects. Quickly onboard to new software and productivity tools. If you don't know about a certain topic or industry, you watch YouTube tutorials to learn before asking. If you still don't understand, then reach out. A large part of this role is research- based so the ideal candidate must enjoy deep diving into new topics and learning about niche audiences.
Detail-oriented but not perfectionistic. They care about clean edits and good pacing, but don’t let perfection slow them down. Know or are willing to learn project management software. Must have good file management habits. Follows SOPs and double-checks their work to avoid any mistakes. Examples: uses tools for proofreading in every project, always checks the brand kit before submitting posts for review to ensure alignment, and double-checks 3rd party reports against in-app metrics.
Positive, fun, collaborative energy. They’re friendly, easy to work with, and open to feedback. They are comfortable speaking up and giving creative input. "Likes to yap. Good vibes"
Rarely Client Facing: They may meet with clients upon request. For example, when onboarding to a special project, but will not be expected to be client-facing often.
As the role and agency expand, you’ll be able to:
