Overview

Job Description

The Mission of Procurement is to ensure Global Supply Base Operational Excellence while complying to LEGO requirements. This Role focuses on Managing the EMS who produces the Tech Component Elements (products) of LEGO. This includes Supplier Management, Managing the Manufacturing Process at the EMS supplier jointly with LEGO Stakeholders and Implementation of Strategic Initiatives with the EMS. The Incumbent may be called upon to take on Special Projects out of the normal scope of work and implement Strategic Initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Initiatives: Work to Support and Implement the Strategic Initiatives of company as assigned.

Procurement and EMS Management: Managed Assigned Electronics Manufacturing Suppliers (EMS) who will manufacture LEGO’s Tech Component Products. This includes the management of factory operations (Capacity & Resource Management, Budgets, Process improvement, Implementation of Special Projects, LEAN Manufacturing, Periodic Business Reviews, Asset Tracking and Management etc) Responsible for Cost Management and Negotiations with the EMS supplier. Drive Operational Excellence at the EMS Factory with support of the EMS and LEGO teams, especially OEE and TEEP. With Supply Planning Team, ensure Supply of Products in quality, time and volume, to LEGO per our requirements. Partnership with Process Engineering and the EMS to improve Manufacturing Performance via Line Balancing, implement Automation to existing production to improve efficiency, Factory Layout Reviews and Equipment Utilization. Manage all Tech Component Elements assigned to the EMS after Mass Production Starts until End of Life. This includes Change Requests & Life After Launch (Tech Continuity) Projects.

Partners for Productivity (PfP): Participate and lead in PfP (Cost Savings) activities with internal stakeholders (Quality, Process Engineering, Play Engineering, Tech Continuity Teams etc), Strategic Sourcing Teams, the EMS and External Component Suppliers to meet cost targets (FCA/FMC).

Supplier Management: May be assigned as a Supplier Key Account Manager. As KAM, he/she is responsible for the Commercial Relationship with the supplier and the representative of The LEGO Group to the Supplier. This includes Contract Negotiations, Price and Terms Negotiations, Business Review Meetings with the Supplier.

Risk Management: Build, Update and Implement Business Contingency Plans (BCP) to Manage and Minimize Risks to LEGO Business

Quality Management: With LEGO & EMS’ Quality team, ensure that EMS produces Products according to LEGO Specifications and Quality Standard and Support the Resolution of Quality Issues

Sustainability: Support the Sustainability goals of The LEGO Group and ensure compliance at the EMS Supplier.

Do you have what it takes?

Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related disciplines

Min 10 years’ total relevant working experience in:
  • Working in and Managing Manufacturing in an EMS Environment
  • EMS Supplier Management, Contract and Price Negotiations
  • Experience in SMT/Box Build Manufacturing Environment, Automation in Manufacturing, Line Balancing
  • Strategic Procurement Experience working in the Electronics Industry (PCBA & Box Build), Electronics Components and Mechanical Commodities knowledge
Other Critical Skillsets:
  • Strong Negotiation, Communication and Influencing Skills
  • Relationship and Stakeholder Management
  • Strong Business Acumen and Strategic Skillsets.
  • Ability to lead a Mult-Functional team
  • A Self Starter with Initiative and ability to work independently
  • Familiar with New Product Introduction (NPI) procurement activities
  • Strategic & Analytical thinking abilities
  • Proactive and collaborative
  • English fluent level
  • ERP knowledge such as SAP and Oracle
  • Experience working with Teams in different Countries and Cultures
