About the role

The Senior Manager, Tax will be the Process Owner responsible as a middle office for the efficient execution and control of direct and indirect tax processes for Mexico, Central American countries & Chile, within a shared service. The Middle Office acts as an additional layer of control and quality between the BPO and the internal customer (Controllership, Tax), ensuring the proper execution of critical processes and alignment with corporate policies and accounting standards.

The goal is to guarantee frictionless delivery, enhance collaboration, and optimize operational efficiency.

What you'll do
  • Lead and influence multidisciplinary tax teams, ensuring the proper execution of recurring tax processes (calculation, recording, reconciliation, and filing of direct and indirect taxes) in LATAM countries where Walmart has operations.
  • Monitor and measure process performance through KPIs, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and operational risks.
  • Analyze the tax effects of national and international transactions, ensuring compliance with local and foreign regulations (MEX GAAP, US GAAP).
  • Collaborate with internal teams Controllership/Tax, controls to standardize criteria and minimize risks in international operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency, achieving tax savings and resource optimization.
  • Provide operational support to the Corporate Tax team in escalations related to the execution of the operation.
  • Keep process documentation, SOPs, and user guides up to date.
  • Support process migrations, controls, and regulatory compliance
What you'll bring
  • Auditor’s degree in public accounting, with a specialization in Taxes
  • Over 10 years of experience leading tax areas in multinational companies and shared services environments
  • Solid knowledge of direct, indirect, and import taxes in Mexico, Central America and Chile.
  • Proven experience in tax process automation, ERP systems management CFDI, and SAT platforms.
  • Advanced & fluent in English.
  • Clear, Concise & Compelling communication.
