Senior Manager, Investment Communications (Latin America)
Purpose

Senior Manager, Investment Communications (Latin America, based in Mexico City) is responsible for contributing to the design and driving the implementation of the GWM investment communications strategy across GWM Latin American markets. The role requires deep expertise in investment content, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage platforms, processes, and stakeholder relationships across multiple countries. The Senior Manager will lead the implementation and adoption of the global thought‑leadership collaboration platform for regional communications, drive alignment of messaging across markets, and provide strategic support to ensure investment communications are effective, scalable, and locally relevant.

Accountabilities
  • Ensure regional communications are consistent, high quality and align with global investment communication strategy and overall standards. Work closely with Global Knowledge Centers and other key partners within the organization to drive thought leadership. Balance global consistency with local customization needs for clients across GWM Latin American markets.
  • Oversee the creation, translation, adaptation, and distribution of investment insights. Support the build‑out of communication frameworks and templates that streamline production across multiple markets. Contribute to creative content creation, including white papers and support of the investment solutions.
  • Lead the regional rollout, governance and optimization of the global thought leadership/collaboration platform ensuring efficient workflows and adoption by local teams. Drive continuous improvements in content delivery, distribution, and engagement tracking.
  • Partner with compliance and other teams as necessary to ensure processes meet regulatory requirements. Act as the primary contact for all compliance matters related to advertising, sales literature, and correspondence as it relates to the investment‑communications related matters across the GWM Latin American markets.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Global Investment Communications and regional team/business leaders as required. Build strong relationships across the organization to anticipate communication needs and opportunities. Act as a trusted advisor in helping shape communication strategies that support advisor engagement and client impact.
  • Establish KPIs to measure effectiveness of regional communications, advisor adoption, and content engagement. Provide regular reporting and insights to inform continuous improvement. Monitor competitor practices and market trends to ensure communications remain best‑in‑class.
  • Foster a customer‑focused culture and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Ensure that all investment‑related communications are in accordance with regulatory requirements, best practices as defined by the Investment Communications team, and internal policies and procedures, including Scotia Wealth Management marketing guidelines.
  • Work with compliance to provide approvals as necessary, document the evidence of supervision, and maintain the records of all approved materials. Escalate to Compliance, Marketing, or other relevant subject‑matter experts as required.
  • Liaise with Global Investment Solutions team, global and local Compliance, Legal, Marketing, and other stakeholders on investment communications matters.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and update of the best practices and policies related to investment communications, including oversight, reviews, and updates of all relevant DISCLAIMERS and DISCLOSURES as well as processes from idea generation to distribution. Remain current on investment/wealth management regulatory frameworks and implement enhancements to internal processes as necessary.
  • Communicate emerging issues or problems to applicable stakeholders and identify timely solutions, where applicable. Actively solicit input from colleagues and other internal groups to develop and implement or improve communication programs and sales tools.
  • As a member of the Investment Communications team, execute on the development of communications and marketing materials for the suite of internal investment programs and solutions.
  • Contribute to the effective functioning of the GIS team and Investment Communications teams by proactively sharing best practices, building effective working relationships, maintaining a high level of customer service, and encouraging the generation of new ideas and approaches.
  • Adhere to or implement measurement and control processes to manage business risk and ensure the most efficient and effective use of resources to support the business.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day‑to‑day activities and decisions.
  • Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s values, its code of conduct and the global sales principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the investment/wealth management industry, preferably in a high‑net‑worth environment
  • Proven ability to successfully lead the execution of complex projects
  • Bilingual (Spanish & English)
  • Ability to provide strong support to multiple and diverse groups
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills – experience working with wealth advisors is considered an asset
  • Strong project management skills, ability to work independently, manage a very high level of volume, and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Exceptional written skills
